Welcome to The Dreamscapes unveiled Experience webpage

Hi!  I am Michelle Gray, Creative Director

I have created this Webpage within my Website drmichellegray.com to highlight the ART-X  grant project.  The Dreamscapes Unveiled Experience occurs May 17-June7, 2024 in Flagstaff Arizona.  This webpage includes a multitude of basic and supplemental materials about Jungian Concepts and the Team involved in creating this Experience.  It also includes a Schedule of Events, and information about all the Events.  This will also be the location for the supplemental materials that will help expand the explanations in the Gallery Show.

If you are trying to reach my Website, drmichellegray.com, please hit home on the Menu Bar above.  If you would like to continue to receive regular stories and features about Jung, Jungian Art, and Jungian/ Depth Coaching, please send me a message through the Contact Me box.  Likewise, you can follow the 31-Day Countdown and Show Highlights through Instagram or Facebook @authenticpathcoach

Thank YOu ART-X And Creative Flagstaff!

Creative Flagstaff is pleased to announce the grant funding of thirty experiences during the inaugural ten day event, set for May 17-26, 2024 in Flagstaff, Arizona. These grant funded experiences create the core of ARTx: Art + Ideas Experience Arizona, an opportunity to empower people of all ages and backgrounds, through experiential and cross-disciplinary learning and discovery in arts and culture.

This year’s experiences encapsulate the core values established over several years of planning and vision refinement: citywide activations, creating opportunity for community change through the arts, catalytic experiences and community building. They include fabric art, opera, literature, poetry, improv, puppets and more. Each one utilizes art as a bridge to connect with contemporary issues, like drought, mental health, forgiveness and others.

Step into the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and art. Explore the mysteries of sleep, dreams, and Jungian psychology in an innovative and experiential installation for all ages. Come make Jungian art with us!

Unlocking the mysteries of sleep and dreams holds the key to enhancing human well-being and fostering creativity, paving the way for transformative breakthroughs in fields ranging from mental health to innovation. It has been a full century since Jung first created his magnificently illustrated dream journal, The Red Book. Modern sleep science indicates those brain wave patterns found in sleep and dream states are also found in daydreaming and creativity–both important parts of art-making.

Dreamscapes Unveiled will explore creativity and dreaming through multiple perspectives of art, psychology, and science. Dreamscapes Unveiled includes an interactive gallery show highlighting four major aspects of Jungian Psychology (Self-Individuation, Archetypes, Dreams and Active Imagination, and Alchemy), including an entry concept piece created collaboratively by artists Michelle Gray, Suzanne Botello, and Lisa Lee Pearce. There is also an Interactive Slide Show and Art Installation that will allow you to create a Jungian Image Art Piece to take home.

The Gallery Open Houses occur on May 18, 24, 25 and June 7.  Come and enjoy our Gallery Show, music, and refreshments!

These artists will also host 3 workshops on Intuitive Art Making on May 21-23:

Synchronicity, Active Imagination, and Carl Jung's Red Book

Join Jungian Psychologist and Coach, Michelle Gray, on a journey of how Synchronicity and Active Imagination combine to provide remarkable opportunities for creativity. Michelle will share how Synchronicity and Active Imagination have played a significant part in The Dreamscapes Unveiled Experience and will give the audience an opportunity to reflect on how Synchronicity has played a part in their own lives.

The Slideshow will feature full color illustrations from Carl Jung's Red Book- which is considered a seminal book in the formation of Jungian Psychology. The Red Book is the one of the primary origins for Art Therapy, Art Journaling, and Active Imagination.

Michelle will illustrate how the concepts of Synchronicity and Active Imagination combined to help Jung create the Red Book. The audience will then participate in an Active Imagination Experience featuring one or more Red Book Illustrations, and then have an opportunity to explore and reflect how these concepts could increase their own creative flow.

Dreamscapes Online Free Dream Group

Learn how to record your dreams and use Active Imagination to gain more wisdom from them.  Led by experienced Dream tending Facilitator, Michelle Gray, PhD in an Online Free Dream and Discussion Group on Zoom.

As a Free Community Dream and Discussion Group, we gather to learn about and explore Jungian Concepts. This group was originally formed by the Phoenix Friends of Jung over 20 years ago and moved to Zoom during the pandemic. It has since become an online community group. It is an open group, with no requirements for attendance. People come and go as needs and desires fit. Everyone is welcome and we encourage everyone to participate and contribute at the level they feel comfortable.  During the first hour of our group, we explore a topic through presentation and discussion.

Why We Sleep Book Discussion Group

Join Michelle Gray, PhD and Sara Gibson, MD in a facilitated community book discussion of neuropsychologist Matthew Walker’s New York Time’s bestselling book Why We Sleep: Unlocking The Power of Sleep and Dreams.  Book review will include the sleep stages involved in dreaming, as well as a discussion of the 12-point plan outlined by Dr. Walker in the book in promoting good sleep.

Sara Gibson, MD, has been a public health psychiatrist for 30+ years as a nationally recognized expert in telemedicine, and has provided comprehensive psychiatric services to rural Apache County solely via telemedicine since 1995.  She is passionate about providing highest quality, holistic and trauma-informed medical care to underserved persons and places.

This event will be held at the Flagstaff Downtown Public Library on Wednesday, May 29 6-7:30pm.

TAPESTRY OF TIME

a film by Christine Clawley

We will view a premier selection of clips with commentary from Filmmaker and Q&A

About Tapestry of Time

Nearly everyone has experienced brief moments of insight, clarity, or a feeling of timelessness in which life begins to take on a synchronistic or dreamlike quality. In these moments, the magic and wonder of life often returns and we can experience mundane or profound, meaningful connections. Synchronicity and other time anomalies grant the individual a glimpse into a deeper reality, beyond the limits of space, time, and linear causality. This film’s aim is to give voice to those experiences often silenced by experts, authoritative figures, and even ourselves, as well as offer old and new ways to relate to the most precious, elusive physical quantity known.
