Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Where is your office and what are your office hours? Do you do Telemed Services?

For the time being, I only provide Telehealth services via (HIPPA compliant telemed platform).

When I resume in-person visits: My office is in the Agassiz Building  in downtown Flagstaff, AZ. 125 E Elm, Suite 207, is currently closed. There is are parking spaces in the front and back of the building, and if those are full, some of the streets bordering the building do not have parking meters. Once in the building, please go to the 2nd Floor.  There is a lobby where you can wait.

While I conduct my practice business under the corporate name, Prescott Counseling and Consulting, Ltd, I no longer hold office hours in Prescott, AZ.

I see clients on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am to 4pm.  I am doing projects and administration on Tuesdays and Fridays.  It is my practice to return phone calls to prospective clients on Tuesday and Fridays.

Payments: What types of payment do you take; Do you accept insurance reimbursement?

Client payments and copays are due at the time of service.  I accept check or cash, but neither Debit or Credit Cards at this time.

I currently participate with Medicare or Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance panels.  If you have a different insurance plan that I do not contract with, I will provide you with a Superbill which includes the amount you paid so that you may submit to your insurance plan for the possibility of partial or full reimbursement for services rendered.

Please note that not all services are covered by insurance plans.  Please check with your insurance provider prior to your first appointment.  It is is your responsibility to know the specific requirements and limits of your coverage.

Sessions: How frequently will we meet, how long do sessions last, how long does it take to change?

Our first step is to have a brief free telephone conversation regarding your needs.  If we mutually determine that we are a good fit, we will discuss the likely frequency of sessions.

In general, the more specific and recent the problem, the shorter the time it takes to resolve the uncomfortable situation.  This can take as few as a handful of sessions.  And likewise, longer seated, complicated problems will take a longer time to resolve, as many internal and external systems are possibly involved.

Sessions generally last between 45 - 60 minutes, depending on problem and constraints provided by your finances.

As I believe in therapeutic homework/ experiments in order to create sustained change in your life, you can expect that you will have clear steps to work on in between sessions.  This will facilitate the progress you have chosen to make in your life and should shorten the time in therapy.
